Procter & Gamble —PUR Water Sachets

Philip Frank Souter and Colin Ure of Procter & Gamble have been awarded the IPO Foundation's top honor - “National Inventor of the Year” - for their humanitarian efforts that led to the design and development of PuR® Purifier of Water Sachets.

Jemima, a Kenyan woman living with HIV/AIDS, who with the help of PUR water sachets, is helping give hope and clean drinking water to her people.

This patented technology can take a gallon of biologically contaminated water and turn it into a gallon of potable drinking water. PUR water sachets have been used to purify water for victims of disasters around the world, including the tsunamis in southeast Asia and the recent earthquakes in Pakistan.
